Ben Shaw earned his bachelor of art in social work from Loras College and master of social work from St. Ambrose University. He joined the Crescent Community Health Center (Crescent) team in September 2020. Prior to joining Crescent Ben held many positions in the social work field including substance abuse counselor, hospital social worker, case manager, therapist and child welfare. 

At Crescent, Ben enjoys working with patients from all different backgrounds becoming positive support for them. “I liked the idea of what Crescent stands for in the community,” said Shaw. “I also felt like it was a fun opportunity to work in the new Brain health unit to see how things got set up and see if I could have a positive impact. I also felt like the job opportunity was a step forward in my career.”
