Crescent Community Health Center (Crescent) is proud to announce that Heather Rickertsen, Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services, has been awarded the prestigious Carl Kulczyk Memorial Award by the Iowa Primary Care Association. This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the organization and the community health field, in line with the legacy of Carl Kulczyk.
The Carl Kulczyk Memorial Award was established in honor of Carl Kulczyk, who made remarkable contributions to the Iowa PCA and the community health sector before his passing in 2008. This award serves as a tribute to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and contributions during their tenure at a health center in Iowa.
Heather Rickertsen, a highly respected and dedicated member of the Crescent team, meets and exceeds the criteria set forth for the Carl Kulczyk Memorial Award. As the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services, Heather has played a pivotal role in advancing the mission of Crescent and strengthening its impact throughout the communities it serves.
Heather's multi-year commitment to Crescent has been marked by her unwavering commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes for underserved populations. Her leadership and management skills have been instrumental in enhancing the quality of care provided by the health center.
Under Heather's guidance, Crescent’s pharmacy footprint has grown exponentially through the acquisition of Infocus Pharmacy which allowed Crescent to continue offering lifesaving 340B prescription savings to patients. Her initiatives have not only improved patient health but also contributed significantly to Crescent's standing in the community.

Crescent Community Health Center first opened its doors in October of 2006. Crescent was founded by a group of dedicated board members made up of community stakeholders who identified the need for primary medical and dental care for underserved populations. Since then, Crescent has been providing high-quality primary and preventive medical, dental, and brain healthcare to members of the community.
