Iowa Medicaid is changing — so if you have Molina, Wellpoint, or Iowa Total Care, find out how it will impact you.
If you have Medicaid coverage, upcoming changes could affect how often you renew and what you need to do to remain eligible. You don’t have to figure it out alone. Crescent Community Health Center’s Outreach and Enrollment Team can help you understand your coverage and the steps you may need to take.
Do you have Iowa Total Care, Molina, or Wellpoint?
These are Iowa Medicaid health plans (MCOs). Changes to Medicaid may affect your healthcare coverage.
Watch for important communications about your benefits, and contact Crescent if you have questions.
What could change?
Depending on your situation, changes to Medicaid may affect:
- When and how often your eligibility is reviewed
- What information you need to provide
- Whether additional requirements apply to you
Not every change will apply to every Medicaid member. That’s why it’s important to read any communications you receive and ask questions if you’re unsure.
Have Medicaid? Pay attention to your messages.
The most important thing you can do is watch for communications about your Medicaid coverage.
Do not ignore a:
- Letter
- Text message
- Portal notification
These may come from Iowa HHS or your Medicaid health plan, including Iowa Total Care, Molina Healthcare, or Wellpoint.
If you receive something about your Medicaid coverage, read it and respond as soon as possible.
What should I do?
- Keep your information current — Make sure your address, phone number, and email are up to date.
- Respond to renewal requests — If you’re asked to renew, complete the process promptly.
- Provide requested documents — You may need to submit information to verify eligibility.
- Be prepared for eligibility reviews — More frequent reviews may apply to some members.
- Learn what requirements apply to you — New work or community engagement requirements may apply to some people; others may qualify for an exemption.
Don’t miss an important notice
If your address, phone number, or email has changed, update your information so Medicaid notices can reach you. Not sure where to update? Our Outreach and Enrollment Team can help.
