Tim Walker
Inspired by the quality of care he receives at Crescent, Tim joined the Board in January 2025. In his past he served two terms on the board of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Iowa City, as a Buildings and Grounds trustee, as well as on committees there. He also worked for the Secretary-Treasurer of the American Society of Parasitology, spending five years among the gears of a scientific society’s finances, membership support, and governance.
At age 42 he left the white-collar world to become a union electrician and has never regretted the change. He is currently a UAW member working as an electrician and maintenance mechanic at Rousselot. In addition to the Crescent board, he volunteers at the Lantern Center, tutoring English.
Away from work Tim loves to cook, to eat, and to make sure his pets’ lives are better than his own.
