What is Measles?

Measles is a highly contagious viral illness that spreads through coughing, sneezing, and contact with contaminated surfaces. The virus can remain in the air for up to two hours, and 90% of unvaccinated individuals who are exposed will become infected.

Common Symptoms Include:

  • High fever (often 104°F or higher)
  • Cough
  • Runny nose
  • Red, watery eyes
  • A distinctive red rash that usually starts on the face and spreads

Protect Yourself and Your Family

The best defense against measles is the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine, which is highly effective and safe. If you’re unsure about your vaccination status or that of your child, contact us to review your records or schedule an appointment.

Stay Informed and Prepared

We encourage all patients and families to stay up-to-date with the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Learn more at:
