Need Help Understanding Medicare? We're Here for You.

Medicare rights and benefits, supplemental insurance, long-term care coverage, and claims processes can often be confusing. But understanding these topics is essential as you become eligible for Medicare.

That’s where SHIIP—the Senior Health Insurance Information Program, a service of the Iowa Insurance Division—can help. SHIIP has guided thousands of Iowans through their Medicare options and helped them make informed, cost-effective choices.

At Crescent Community Health Center, trained SHIIP volunteers are available to provide free, confidential, and unbiased support. These volunteers are specially trained to simplify complex information and help you navigate your choices with confidence. They stay current with Medicare updates and can answer your questions in a way that makes sense.

SHIIP Volunteers Can Help You:

  • Understand your Medicare rights and benefits
  • Assess your needs and make informed decisions about your health insurance
  • Compare and evaluate Medicare supplement and long-term care insurance plans
  • Organize medical bills and file claims
  • Identify whether other assistance programs, such as Medicaid, may be available to you
